To the young gentleman on I-77…

While driving home this afternoon, a young gentleman in a Kia drove up behind me, abruptly pulled to the right, and displayed the international driving signal known as “The Bird.”

Now, I am no stranger to being told that I am number one…but this one puzzled me.  I was moving with the flow of traffic, I hadn’t tried to merge near her…why was I being honored with his display of affection?

Then I realized…it was probably because of this:

Stay classy, buddy.

What’s interesting is: when bloviating in favor of some gun control measure or another, these people will swear that we’re all just ticking time bombs and that if we’re allowed to carry guns, all it will take is a minor disagreement or tiff to result in us perforating them with 230 grains of lead.

    Yet, in real life, they are not in the least bit uncomfortable with expressing themselves in such ways without the slightest fear of retaliation.

    Hmmm.

    It’s almost like they don’t really believe what they say or something.

    Honestly, my reaction (once I figured it out) was laughter. I felt bad for this poor, sad little man flipping me (and my daughter, BTW) off on the highway. Besides, I only had 180 grains, but still, no desire to send any his way. :)

    I’m still laughing about it. I can just imagine what was going through his mind: “I guess I showed him!” LOL.
