Sorry to see you go
Bitter has shut down the blog.
That’s a shame…she was a great voice for the cause. She stays on the blogroll, anyway.
Another Newbie
Caleb at Call Me Ahab, doing his bit to start the next generation off right.
BTW, if you haven’t checked out the Gun Nuts: The Next Generation podcast, now would be the time to do so.
Breda does her part.
Breda has done it again, this time introducing two newbies to the range.
I love it when new shooters get started…especially women or children.
In case anyone forgets…
Let us all remember that Squeaky Wheel Seeks Grease is the only Squeaky Wheel Blog.
Trying to help Squeaky with her google-fu.
Thoughts from a newbie
Tracy over at Pretty Pistolera talks a bit about the benefits of becoming a shooter.
Guntalk
When I was a new shooter, I struggled to find good sources of information on shooting and the shooting sports. Everything was either hunting oriented or too “tactical” for my taste. And the gun mags….don’t get me started on the gun mags.
Gun Talk is a radio program hosted by Tom Gresham. It’s a fabulous resource for new shooters. Tom is in several radio markets, and he has a podcast of old shows. Listening to Gun Talk is what I imagine it must have been like to listen to your dad talk about shooting. (Sorry, Tom, but the age is about right.
)
Tom also runs Gun Talk TV which is an excellent resource. It has videos on everything from “What is the difference between a shotgun and a rifle?” all the way up to competition tips and gunsmithing info. Gun Talk TV is actually what inspired me to start a newbie blog.
